For me..It's along the lines of being scared of her..and getting a boner to her *cough*
That crazy woman can lock me up in the amplifier with her anyday...
<.<
>.>

But for the sake of this thread, yes, scared..I am scared of her. The way she stalks me and looks me in the eye with those empty eye sockets never fails to make me twitch in someway.

This poll is not very detailed. I pity Alma a great deal and feel sympathy for all the horrible things she went through throughout her life...but I also acknowledge that she is an insane killer.

I agree with Shmuck. The two thread options aren't enough, since I feel both for her character, so I'm not gonna vote. She is a psychotic undead killer... but there's a reason for it.

Indeed. It's not the "right" reason, morally, but to Alma, a person who doesn't know any better (and indeed, she knows the worst side of humanity), going on a rampage makes sense.

I actually thought that Project Origin did a fantastic job with developing her character, as not only was it made very clear that Alma is a grown woman, but her memories and what she says makes it clear that she's an incredibly lonely, lost and terrified spirit...which makes sense if you're a sponge for negative emotions.

The poll isn't detailed enough, really.

I feel a tad sorry for Alma, as any normal human being would, but I think she's long passed the point of no return as far as justifiable killing goes. She's a villain now.

She's a woman now....and she really knows it VERY WELL. Fuck you, Harlan, you're an idiot.

Though I got the idea with only two choices, and I chose the first of the two, here would be some choices for next time...
  1. She makes me hide under the covers every time I see her.
  2. She didn't ask to be born, didn't ask to be born special, and didn't ask to be taken advantage of by the one who gave her life, and I like seeing her take revenge on everyone and everything, just as I would revel in doing if it were me.
  3. Human life is sacred, and she has no business killing any living creature no matter how it would be justified, she needs to be stopped, ASAP.
  4. it doesn't matter, she can't be killed anyway, I just hope she doesn't hurt me.
Of my choices above, I'm #2 all the way, baby...

I am totally fascinated with Alma, so it's hard to think of her as a villain.

The fact that your very first encounter with her is of her murdering the main protagonist's allies establishes her firmly as a villain. A sympathetic one, but an antagonist that threatens the protagonist's safety, murders innocents, and happens to have an agenda against another villainous faction.

So you're saying we should either blindly love a character who murders hundreds, possibly thousands of people because she has a bad story OR hate her and completely disregard her story? THAT MAKES NO SENSE

I feel sorry for her. Ive talked about with some buddies and, to be honest, we've come to the conclusion that she kinda has a right to murder any ATC employee she wants

Ugh, this is what I'm against. Generalizing a corporation is wrong. Yes, Armacham's secret projects and their mercenaries are wrong and deserve to be destroyed...but the innocent employees, the ordinary people who are simply doing their jobs do not deserve death. Alice Wade, Aldus Bishop and Bill Moody were simply three examples of ordinary innocents, and it's quite clear that most of the employees executed at Armacham Headquarters were just unlucky people.

However...the Armacham personnel we see in Project Origin DO deserve to die. Everyone involved in Project Harbinger deserved what they had coming to them...

That was before I really got to know her. We've worked things out, and we're working hard to really listen to each other and acknowledge each others' feelings. I think counseling is really helping us.

Think thats all.

If there's a fear 3 then I'll go guess what the intro will introduce...

Its black and white,
It shows alma doing beckett from fear 2,

You'll hear how moaning and groaning of her pushing the baby (Somehow) and it will go back to fear 1 where she had one of her baby,
Then you keep hearing her scream and the baby's out and you see a white light and then...Fear 3 title shows up

Like I've said before on this subject, if it's Alma we're talking about, I wouldn't expect her to pick and choose between a file clerk or a lead scientist performing morally corrupt experiments. It's understandable. Have you heard the saying "Kill 'em all, and let God sort 'em out" ?

That's not to say they deserve it personally, but it's a case of guilt by association.

I used to work as an administrative assistant at a defense contractor. Though I didn't actually use my hands to build the equipment used for war, I was still a small part of helping that company operate as a whole.

If the company even remotely does anything morally questionable (defense, etc.), and you chose to work there, no matter what the capacity, then you share in the responsibility.

I must disagree very strongly with that. How do you know that anybody at the company knew they were doing morally questionable things? Do you seriously believe that a desk clerk would know what was really going on? Or the janitor? Did the Delta soldiers who didn't work there deserve to die? Did the members of Dark Signal deserve to die?
