This is very interesting as I got the impression that Monolith sacrificed many F.E.A.R. features with the multi-platform multi-player in mind.

Just so you guys know GiantBomb's Review is up now.. gave it 4/5.

It's less tactical than its forebear, but Monolith delivers a tightly paced and atmospheric ride with F.E.A.R. 2... Less Tactical ? .. Uhh... don't know what he's talking about though

Yeah FEAR was no more tactical than FEAR 2 when it comes to SP.

Gametrailer's video review.

Color me suprised, GT actually did a good review. They must have replaced some staff members.

That's a really good score for GT.

So far F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin has an 80.7% by the most credible GameRankings.com, I quote http://www.gamespot.com/pc/action/fe...y;critic-score, http://www.gamerankings.com/htmlpage...asp?q=fear%202, and http://www.gamerankings.com/itemrank...lp.asp?popup=1. By GameRankings criteria, F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin has a rounded score of 81% and when factored into their scale (see third link), is closest to an 80%, or a B.

Please note the aforementioned GameRankings score is an average of PC reviews, where only those reviews listed in bold count toward the score, as qualified by http://www.gamerankings.com/itemrank...lp.asp?popup=1.

By GameRankings:

Xbox 360: 78.6% B http://www.gamerankings.com/htmlpages2/932146.asp

PS3: 82.2% B http://www.gamerankings.com/htmlpages2/932147.asp

To Valfaroth: Your list has an average of 80.4%. My issue with your list is that it does not discern between platform-biased reviews. I suggest you create a list for PC, a list for Xbox 360, and a list for PS3, where the reviews are listed alphabetically rather than from highest to lowest score--potentially biased in favor of higher scores, as those are the first one will see. All reviews for each platform are listed on the GameRankings lists, all linked, and all credible in bold.

Graphics: 8/10, glowing enemies etc lowered it
Gameplay: 3/10, Halo style aiming replaced PC shooter dynamics, slowmo is disabled during the horrible video moments, fixed gun moments, vehicles, invincible enemies, unlimited grenade enemies, corridor. Corridor. Nothing but corridor. Linear. Like playing Jericho. Yeah, I said it. or FireWalker.
AI: 2/10, assembly line attackers, no flanking, obsessed with flipping over tables. Since there is no leaning, no real cover of any sort, you just you stand in the open, they stand in the open, your guns do more damage, you win. Think Halo multiplayer. My gun is bigger so I win the fight! Also bugs galore.
Story: so far 4/10, nothing to pull you in, explained with glowing blue discs instead of creatively, doesn't connect to the other three games, doesn't even involve FEAR, might as well have been called Taco Salad 2. If you count that the story makes no sense if you played Fear 1, 0/10.
Scariness: if Fear was 10/10 (it was!) and Left4Dead was a 2/10 (it was!) then I give this an uhh... Annoying/10. Because it isn't scary, it's annoying. They replaced scare tactics with 'bug your little sister' tactics. Playing a scary scene is like getting poked in the arm repeatedly. She's touching me!
PC Shooter Scale: 1/10, nothing new, everything old, rehash of every shooter you've played, 100% uninspired garbage

Fear 1 will go down in the top 20 best shooters of all time. Definitely 9+/10. If anybody says Fear 2 is 8+/10, they played it on a console, or they've never touched a PC before. Because it's as mindless as all the other Gears of Halo games that have come out in the last 5 years. Play Day of Defeat one time and then come back and say this game isn't dumbed down to the level of a 4 year old. This is Jurassic Park 2, if Jurassic Park 2 was released as a silent movie. It was made for a console, it was ported to PC. They should be required by law to tell you that. Because no port to PC will ever be worth buying, or even trying.

I can't even give this game a 3/10. They put in cookie cutter next level graphics, but put no effort into anything else. Sure, you improved the graphics, but you failed at making the game look better. If Half Life 3 fails half as hard as Fear 2, I will do something awful that involves reggs and an entire parkinglot of cars.

Review over at Gameon.co.uk

Pc version does require further work via patches in all honesty.

You guys forgot the 1UP.com review! Garnett Lee gave it an A-. Between what he said on the 1UP podcast about it and the fantastic demo on PSN, it became really apparent to me that I needed to own this game.

I'm so glad I bought it. Fantastic.

Default Here's my review

Here's my review: This game is CRAP compared to the first one.

Reasons: Is it me or was the AI left out of this game? I just won this game on hard, I don't think I was challenged once. I think FEAR had some of the best enemy AI of any shooter, it's missing here.

Also, blood doesn't make a game scary, especially when you put it on almost every surface texture of the game. What makes a game scary is the tension and the STORY, both are missing here. Developers, you shouldn't leave a games story telling to a bunch of random data pickups. Try integrating it into the gameplay a bit. I know this takes a little more effort on your part, but you are asking us to pay 60 bucks for this garbage.

As you can probably tell I didn't like this much game, but I wouldn't even be posting here if the original FEAR wasn't SO great. With all that said, I guess the main thing I would say about FEAR2 to sum up my feelings, "Let down..."

Sincerely,
Once a FEAR fan.

yes i was dissapointed with this1 so was my whole clan, and we were the best on the old 1, i was the best on psn on this1 aswell, but even i was dissapointed by the running speed. and the fact you cant run around like a madman unarmed attacking people. its not TOO bad considering........something. i only enjoyed it because i owned at it. and had a bigger h8 club, witch i miss!!
