I actually like the glow affect. Mainly because it doesn't ruin the quality but it makes sense, as if trying to make targets stand out. So the game is treating Becket like he's a experienced soldier and the glow affect is capturing his ability to pin point those targets in a short time period. IE: Combat Perception.

Huh, I actually think the "glowing" and the "Slow Mo" are all results of the surgery Beckett gets. Not to mention, those nifty high-tech goggles he has probably improves his combat capabilities.

Him being the "best of the best" is an excuse for him to generally have FPS hero sensibilities, I don't think it's actually a reference to his "reflexes".

100% agree. I think the glow is a nice addition...its like he is concentrating on the battle...everything slows down, enemys are more visible etc.
