Nope. The casting promotion is definitely fake. It's got so many plot details wrong that we may as well be reading about a Dragon Ball Z adaptation.

The trick is to find the balance. Rather not see it rushed, but also don't feel like waiting like Duke Nukem Forever time.

Funny thing is DNF has a publishing deadline of 2012... If that conflicts with F.E.A.R. 3 things could be very interesting.

I'd not like to see F.E.A.R. 3 rushed, but I'd like to see it late summer, early fall of 2011 or early 2012. I'd rather not have too much leaked out to the public, maybe, well, continue the great public relations campaign, but don't release too much information. Too much information led to high expectations, and some people were disappointed with the final product. (Not me. I have very few complaints, Project Origin is my favorite Xbox 360 game.) I have a feeling F.E.A.R. 3 is going to blow my mind. Can't wait for an official release date!

I agree with Shmuck. I want them to take their time and get it right.

As for the stuff that gets leaked, I intend to ignore it and not go digging for it.
Just as with reading a novel, it'd be pretty stupid to flip to the last chapter of the book just to see what happened.

What i'd personally enjoy seeing is misinformation. Leaking crap intentionally that has nothing or very little to do with the actual plot... it would satisfy all the crackheads looking for that junk.

I bet that rumor is part of the 'misinformation campaign' you've mentioned. Although, speaking of leaked crap, I'm reminded of that pointless viral marketing that built up a very vague yet intricate backstory for Cloverfield, only to reveal almost nothing in the actual film.

I don't expect F.E.A.R. 3 to appear this year, at the very least.

i'd die for it to be out this year, but the earliest i see it being released is spring of next year. that's the very earliest.
