So on the helicopter, he could say, "Oh shit." ...then the helicopter crashes and kills everyone. Screw you Extraction Point.

I'll try to answer them though. 1: I really hope that Beckett only acquired his super-reflexes from the doctors injecting all sorts of drugs and things into him. But apparently, he is a very focused, experienced, tough guy, and "Slow Mo" is just showing how focused and skilled he is. I really wish that they hadn't cheapened this sort of ability, but who knows, it might turn out to be relevant after all. 2: Paxton Fettel is definitely DEAD. You shot him in the head at the end of F.E.A.R., putting an end (however brief) to the Replica uprising, and he is no longer alive. He served his purpose, and he willingly let his brother kill him. It will be insulting and very cheap if it turned out that he hadn't been killed. However, there's always the possibility of his ghost returning. He is the son of Alma, after all, and a powerful psychic, so he'd probably return as an apparition. I wouldn't mind seeing his ghost occasionaly, but I prefer to think that he is no longer the guy in charge of the Replicas. 3: There is a digital comic, showing Jin and the pilot of the helicopter somewhere in the ruins of the Auburn district. "Bremmer" the pilot gets killed by Alma, and the whereabouts of Holiday and the Point Man are currently unknown. They'd probably make an appearance in Project Origin, and it'd be nice if they at least mentioned the F.E.A.R. team. Also, Douglas Holiday was a high-ranking Delta Force operative, so he might have a role in the game as well. 4: That's an interesting theory, actually. It would explain why Beckett is so powerful, why ATC takes an interest in him, why Alma doesn't immediately kill him. But I still like to think that he is an ordinary special forces soldier in the situation. Keep in mind that there was no mention of a "Third" prototype in F.E.A.R, and Beckett would have to be the son of Alma again, which sounds a bit repetitive. However, I'd like to imagine that ATC is working on a super-soldier program, and that Beckett may actually come across a hostile prototype by the end of the game. It'd certainly be epic. ![]()

I always believed the telephone call at the end of FEAR when Arestide says "the first prototype was a complete success" is referring to Beckett not the Point Man, and the project relating to the operation from the trailer. Beckett might be the first prototype of this project.
And Beckett supposedly always had the slo-mo ability, so maybe the surgery enhances it or something? I definitely can't wait for the game now, and we will all look back on this and laugh at our speculations after we finish it. |

Also, I think that the surgery is the cause of Beckett's unnatural reflexes, they probably injected some strange chemicals in him, perhaps even the Point Man's DNA or something (bad science, I know.) Perhaps the videos showing him using "Slow Mo" in the Penthouse were only a beta, a flaw by the developers, and he'd start off normally without the advantage of Slow Mo. It just makes sense that Beckett, being a regular soldier, will have to do without Slow Mo for a while, rather than having it available right away.

I think questions about the game story itself should be included in the first post on this thread or an entirely new thread that deals with all the FAQs should be created now that the game is out.

Quick question guys, since you seem to know what your talking about. If you watch that intro video in FEAR 2 you'll notice a weapon that is not in the game. It looks like a shotgun of sorts. I was wondering where or if I could find this gun. Please Write back.

Its black and white, It shows alma doing beckett from fear 2, You'll hear how moaning and groaning of her pushing the baby (Somehow) and it will go back to fear 1 where she had one of her baby, Then you keep hearing her scream and the baby's out and you see a white light and then...Fear 3 title shows up |

hmm.. from what I have gathered...
1st prototype = Point Man = 1st son of Alma = complete success because he survived FEAR1 and detonate the facility 2nd Prototype = Paxton Fettel = 2nd son of Alma = killed by his elder brother Point Man Why the dev made it that Alma contact the 2nd son and not the 1st son, plus don't even recognise her 1st son but recognise her 2nd son. This mystery was not explained, I believe. Becket is just 1 of the best telepathy candidates in the Harbinger project for creating telepathic commanders, hence he is the protagonist in FEAR2, which also means why Alma will make love to him instead of incesting her own sons. lolx |

Alma didn't have contact with point man (her first son) because he doesn't have psychic ability. At least not anywhere near the same level as Fettel, hence why he was never trained as a psychic commander.

Ya yes.. I remember now. I think he still has a bit. Even none, I think Alma with such powerful psychic power will at least be aware of the Point Man.
I think the reasonable explanation will be the Point Man having no army under him, hence Alma didn't contact him to free herself. |

Moreso that she had already connected with Fettel (remember the first synchronicity event when he was 9) so she was more attuned to him.

I got the sense that The Point Man did have psychic powers, but they developed after he reached maturity. At the very least, he's able to enter Alma's mind, combat her apparitions, see ghosts and 'focus' very well.
Alma was more attuned to Fettel since he was the more powerful psychic, and because she had attuned to him already. Plus, according to Fettel, "She cannot see in your [Point Man's] mind, but perhaps you can see into hers." The Point Man's a blank slate to her.

I liked FEAR, but the expansion pack FEAR Files felt a little dated when I played it a couple of months ago. I might be wrong and hope I am, but this new one doesnt really seem to add anything to the equation. The Ring-style shock/horror guff is now hopelessly overdone, and raises chuckles rather than chills. What does PO do that is new?
