Great work, OrangeC!
It's nice to see that you went with CBR rather than going the VBR route. |

Awesome work! Snakefist is one of my favorite songs, and yeah, Nathan Grigg is definitely a genius. He's working on a song for one of our DLC pieces that I think everyone will really enjoy!

The files have been mirrored on Badongo (http://www.badongo.com). I hate upload sites with limitations like Megaupload.
The archive on Badongo is a 7-zip self-extracting archive that weighs in at ~411 MB. These are the same exact mp3s as originally posted with the exception of the filenames being slightly altered and the ID3v1 and ID3v2 tags having been adjusted accordingly. Self-extracting 7-zip archive link: Code:

Just have to throw it out that Monolith and Warner Bros. do not support downloading of our soundtrack from unofficial sources. These files may contain viruses that may be harmful to your computer. Download these files at your own risk!

Hey Yurei !
Regarding the soundtrack.. you said that Nathan Grigg is working on a track for the DLC? Could it be a full version of that choir song in the launch trailer?? I cannot find it anywhere and it wasn't in the game!! it would've made an awesomeepic finale song for the final battle! Any ideas what happened to this track or if it will be avaiable somehow? I'd be willing to pay for it damn it! Would make an awesome MP background music Do you know what song I'm talking about??? -AJ |

Normally I wouldn't post information or a link as I did but since the community leaders have not deemed the availability of the unofficial soundtrack to be against community standards I thought I'd at least mirror the soundtrack somewhere else for those who have problems. If, at some point, the sharing of these files is considered bad or wrong then, obviously, I have no issues with my post being deleted. My goal is to help people. People should always scan everything they download even from trusted sources. These days you can never be too careful. Last edited by Parker Kincaid : 02-20-2009 at 08:56 PM. |

Some file distribution sites don't work well with download managers especially when they attempt to use multiple download threads. I would suggest either limiting DAP to 1 thread or simply disabling DAP and not using it at all for the download. Other than what I said above I don't know what more to say. You may simply just have a very bad connection to the sites with the files. |

Thanks for making these available! I've always felt that the soundtrack of a game, just like for a film or tv show, is just as important for setting the tone as the visuals and FEAR and of course FEAR 2 have one of the best out there! Just out of interest did you extract these from the FEAR 2 data archives or did you actually record these from the game?
I've got the wav files from the first FEAR extracted from the original archives if anyone is interested. I could whip them up into a soundtrack I'm sure but as most are meant to be looped they are only about a minute long and end abruptly so would probably need some editing to be actually be decent to listen to. I have recorded these from the game because i cannot find any clues as to where the music is in any arch01 archives, and it cant be in that SND file either because its only 140mb. gotta wait until the SDK comes out i guess.

Can someone upload the files to rapidshare please? I don't like megaupload, or any other site that downloads trojans and adware popups along with the file. It says that megaupload and badango have ads, and they are very intrusive.

Hmmm, does anyone have a link to the music used in the Launch Trailer? I know it's not part of the soundtrack, but I'm pretty sure that it's lying around somewhere.

Indeed. I had a good poke around in the arch01 files and thought I was just missing something obvious when I couldn't seem to track them down. I suspect that as they seem to be more dynamic than in the original, much more akin to the dynamic music of some of Monolith's earlier work, that they are probably contained within some of the large files in the archives containing the individual level data. After all even the sound effects for the game don't seem to be readily available and they must be somewhere - the only large files left are the ones in the Layer02 - Layer16 archives so I can only deduce they must be hidden inside some of the files in there. Let's hope it's not long 'till the release of the SDK so we can track them all down!

They could also be scattered around in the level packages like with the .bndl extension.
